Bocas del Toro sailing
Paradise islands of Bocas del Toro are one of the most famous places of Panama. I was lucky enough to spend there 5 days while visiting Costa Rica.
Being in love with sea and ships, I decided to spend a day sailing around the islands. I took a sailing trip with Bocas Sailing and even though the weather was not very good in the morning, it turned out to be a great decision!
We met in Bocas Sailing office on the main street of Isla Colon at 9.30 am and got on board. Marcell, the owner, was our guide and I was so happy about it! It rained a bit at the beginning so we talked a lot observing the beautiful islands of Bocas del Toro. Then the clouds disappeared and the Sun showed us its beams so we all started enjoying even more. We could even do fishing as fishing poles are there available.
First, we got to Dolphin bay to watch Bottle Nose Dolphins. There are some 20 – 25 dolphins living in the bay now, hence the name. There I learned so many things I had no idea about. And to be honest, I didn’t like them at all. Dolphins are one of my favorite animals, so hearing that they get hurt and killed by ignorant people in here, I was shocked! Just because they ride too fast through the bay and use old two stroke boats that shouldn’t be used as they leave all the petrol in the sea.
Knowing all this, I enjoyed seeing every dolphin even more. Even a baby dolphin with its dolphin mother swam around us for a while. So cute :)
Afterwards, we made our way to the first snorkeling spot around the mangroves in Mangrove Reef of isla San Cristobal. The snorkeling gear is included in the tour. It was the first time I saw so many starfish, different colours of sponge corals, sea urchins and sea anemones.
Getting back on the boat, we got our lunch – a big very healthy sandwich with turkey ham, cheese and vegetables that Marcell made for us. Satisfied, we took a nap in the front of the boat listening to some easy music. Bocas del Toro sailing really rocked!
Then Marcell took us to another snorkeling spot – known here as the Garden close to Isla Solarte. There we could enjoy fish of all kinds, such as Sargent Major fish, angel fish or parrot fish. They were all around us – completely different from the first spot, no starfish, less corals and more fish. I was super happy!!!
Then we ate some pineapple while relaxing on the boat until we made it back to the port of Isla Colon.

Biggest thanks to Bocas Sailing for that amazing press trip around Bocas del Toro, for all the information they gave me and the yummy food.

right, girls, there will be a post soon about how not to put on weight when traveling :) I have problems especially with my hair, not skin as I use the same face creams when I travel as when I’m at home … but my hair looks horrible each time I get back home

that’s good idea for an article! beauty on the ways :) I dont think it’s such a problem to stay in shape when you walk a lot, but for example my biggest travel problem is to keep my skin looking normal and healthy, after my last backpack trip around cuba I came home and looked like disaster…I’m grateful for photoshop :D
