3 International airports with amazing amenities
If you are a full-time traveler, chances are you will spend more than a few hours at airports, waiting to board or for your delayed flight to take off. Being stuck at an airport is never a great experience – after all, it’s something that stands between you and your dream vacation – but there are things that can make it better. And some airports are serious about offering their visitors the best possible experience. Some of the most celebrated airports in the world have gone to great lengths to do just that. Which airports with amazing amenities can I recommend?
3 International airports with amazing amenities
Yoga Room @ SFO
Yoga is a great way to relax, tone your muscles, and stay healthy but when you’re stuck at an airport, practicing it is not easy at all. I know that when I’m doing stretching and easy yoga poses at airports between flights, people tend to stare at me as if I were an allien :)
Not at the San Francisco International Airport, though – the SFO has two “Yoga Rooms” (at Terminals 2 and 3) dedicated to those seeking relaxation and self-reflection. The Yoga Room has a wooden floor, a wall covered in mirrors, and a lot of serene and clean space for those seeking to stretch their muscles and soothe their minds when waiting for their plane. And the best part is that the room can be used free of charge.

Sports equipments for rent @ ZRH
The Zurich International Airport seems to fully understand the relationship between exercise and relaxation along with the fact that waiting to board a plane – let alone having to wait for a delayed flight – can be a stressful, frustrating experience. So, the airfield at the heart of Switzerland’s business life has a series of amenities in place for those who want to destress by moving. Since the area around the airport is ideal for sports activities, the operators have decided to make good use of this and offer travelers the chance to rent sports equipment to make use of them.
The Service Center at the Zurich Airport offers bikes, Nordic walking poles, and inline skates for hire for men, women, and children willing to spend time moving their muscles while they wait. Those not seeking to do sports while on the airport can choose between other amenities, such as observation decks, bus tours and guided tours of the airport, sightseeing flights, flight simulators, and can even organize birthday parties for kids.
Swimming pool and jacuzzi @ SIN
The Changi Airport in Singapore is a busy, crowded transport hub with some world-class amenities. One of the most attractive ones it has for tired travelers is to be found on the top of the Aerotel Airport Transit Hotel at Terminal 1 – it is a rooftop pool with jacuzzi, poolside bar, and showers. The pool is open between 6 AM and midnight each day and costs as little as SGD 17 (about $12.5) per person – and the guests at the hotel can use it for free.
