4 Ways to learn while you travel
Speak to anyone who has traveled, and they will all tell you the same thing – that it’s one of the greatest adventures a person can experience. Traveling can teach us so much about the world and ourselves. How can you learn while you travel?
And in the current climate, even the most dedicated home bird might find themselves developing a newfound wanderlust.
If you can’t wait for the chance to travel again, why not get planning now? Take a look at these tips and find how to keep learning while traveling.
1. Meet the locals
Wherever you’re traveling, there’s always local culture to soak up, and new customs to learn.
And who better to learn them from than the residents? Travel guides can give you a great insight into the best regional tourist hotspots, but if you’re looking for the hidden gems of a fishing village in Spain, or an obscure little café off the beaten track in Paris, some secrets are better kept by locals – if you can make the effort to befriend them, they might just let you in on them!
2. Say “yes!” to everything
If you’re not open to trying new things, you might not get the most out of your exotic travels.
But if you’re the sort of person who says yes to everything that comes your way, you might get the chance to develop some amazing new skills. Whether that might be snorkeling along the Great Barrier Reef, or practising Tai Chi in China, you will experience incredible things simply by keeping an open mind.
3. Learn a language
If you’re thinking about taking a road trip through Europe, you might want to pick up a phrasebook and learn as you go.
For example, if you’re considering spending some time round the Amalfi Coast, now might be the perfect time to start picking up some basic Italian.
Whichever way you begin learning, the time you spend using a second language in a new setting with native speakers will help you become a fluent polyglot in no time. Want to know more about learning a language? Check out these tips for more info.
4. Discover distance learning
Lots of people travel to learn more about the world, and themselves at the same time.
But there can be many ways to learn while traveling that might not have crossed your mind.
When looking into learning new skills and qualification, many people forget the option of distance learning. With so many options, and a number of courses to choose from, learning online allows you to easily earn a qualification while you’re living as a digital nomad.
If you’re looking for guidance when it comes to choosing online courses, educators institutions like ARU Distance Learning offer a wide range of remote learning opportunities that are well worth checking out.
Just imagine returning home from your voyage well-traveled and bilingual, with new friends across the globe and a new qualification too!
