8 Best Christmas gifts for travelers
Christmas is around the corner and I bet many of you know some travelers. Do you wonder what presents should you get for them? If you are not a traveler yourself, you might not understand that most people with a travel bug are minimalists. What does it mean to you? They do not need a lot.
So how to know what is the right thing for them they will 100% appreciate?
Keep in mind, it needs to be something useful.
If you are looking for last minute Christmas gifts for travelers, I put up a quick list which might give you some ideas.
8 Best Christmas gifts for travelers:
1. World map
I guess a world map is the first thing that comes to mind when you say a word traveler. Most of us tend to have a big wall world map back home (if we still keep a place we call home, of course.) But there’s many other world map souvenirs, such as necklaces, watches, map note pads etc. You will find loads of them on Amazon or Ebay so go get some inspiration. I also have one of those world maps at home.
2. Bamboo products
Being a vegan means I try to protect the environment also in other aspects, not just when it comes to food. I avoid chemicals and try to use bamboo products and products made of other natural materials (except animal products, such as leather etc.)
In my backpack you can find bamboo sunglasses from Yacht Club Accessories which are perfect for 3 main reasons: they are light, they float on water so cannot lose them, and a tree is planted for each sunglasses sale.
Just recently I also started to use other bamboo products from Bambooska. I have a very good hair brush with my blog name engraved (so cute!), light bamboo jewelry, and toothbrushes enriched with charcoal. I am so happy about the toothbrush as it really leaves the teeth smoother and cleaner compared to the electric toothbrush I used in the past.
Both bamboo companies I mention here are based in my home country Slovakia but deliver worldwide.
Did you know that bamboo is the fastest growing plant on Earth?
3. Ebooks
Many travelers nowadays do prefer ebooks over printed traditional books because they can just carry a tablet/phone with hundreds of ebooks and read one after another. If you do not know which ebooks might interest them, what about my ebook How to stay fit (not only) when traveling? I mean, who does not want to be healthy and look sexy and learn from 10 years of experience? And to keep track of your steps, I recommend a Fitbit stepper.
4. Gadgets
Obviously, we all need loads of gadgets to capture our travel adventures. Just to mention a few: a good DSLR camera, Gopro underwater camera, Lenovo phone, notebook, power banks, external harddrives and other modern technology we learned not to live without. All these gifts would be the most expensive ones, but on the other hand also the most useful. All travelers would be eternally grateful if they received any of these, trust me.
5. Anti-theft bags
I won’t lie trying to pretend no one will try to rob you or steal your things on the road. It does happen in some destinations, and unfortunately, it also happened to me a few times. But that was before I came across ebags backpacks. I praise these bags highly!
You can choose from 4 different backpack sizes and then just travel worry free. The bags are protected by anti-slash and anti- puncture technology, and all have inseparable locks. So you can lock your bags to any fixed object (e.g. bed leg), and then also use a numeral TSA zip lock to feel safer. No need to carry locks with you as TSA locks are part of the backpacks. Yes to safer travels!
6. Trips
If you are still not sure if you could make a traveler happy with material gifts, then for sure he would jump out of happiness if he was invited on trip. You can check some destination ideas all around my blog.
7. Jewelry
If you need a Christmas gift for a female traveler, she might like mountain inspired silver jewelry from a Polish brand Hilly sheep. All the earrings, bracelets and necklaces are hand-made. Very simple, gentle and refined patterns with. I wrote more about them in my favorite travel things post.
8. Thermal clothing
I firmly believe thermal clothing is a must for each traveler. After years on the road I’ve learned good thermal T-shirts come in handy. In cold destinations you need to dress in layers and a thin and light thermal shirt should form one of the layers, no matter what.
As before blogging I worked as a flight attendant, I know about a company making thermal shirts for cabin crew, among other products. I still wear those shirts from SkyPro. The white thermal T-shirts are the best so far I found and be worn on any occassion, even a formal one as they can match any outfit.
What other things would you add on this Christmas gifts for travelers list?
