Some people have planted various plants in their home garden, and they eat the plants such as vegetables or their products (fruits). Human beings have realized the importance of plant-based products, and many are changing their lifestyle. We shall discuss various types of vegetarian diets on the website, where you can also pay people to do your homework. We shall also see some reasons why people prefer a vegetarian diet to animal-based products.
Why do people take a vegetarian diet?
People choose to take a vegetarian diet because of various reasons related to the environment and animals reared for food and public and personal health. Animal products produced in a very concentrated area may contain antibiotics which are unwanted substances in animals. Animals treated with antibiotic products may lead to human beings developing antibiotic-resistant bacteria. There are benefits to individual health because of a well-planned vegetarian diet. Agriculture involving industrialized animal have adverse effects on air, water, and soil.
Nutrient run-off and manure contaminate the groundwater. The pollutants may flow to the lakes and oceans to form the dead zone, where there is less oxygen, and no life exists. The stale water makes some plants grow on the sides of the oceans. Such plants produce greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous gases. Greenhouse gases contribute to climate change. People have ethical concerns about the animals, such as using milk from a cow that has just given birth.
A vegetarian diet may be cost-effective to most households, or some people may prefer consuming a plant-based diet to an animal-based diet.
Lacto-ovo vegetarian diet
The diet allows you to eat fish or meat and include dairy products and eggs in the diet. “Lacto” is a prefix referring to a cow’s milk. Mammals like human beings and cows are the only creatures that produce milk. “Ovo” is a prefix from a Latin word meaning eggs. Therefore, the Lacto-Ovo diet allows you to consume cheese, butter, sour cream, yogurt, milk, and eggs and excludes animal meat, including pork, beef, chicken, and fish. Some religions dwell on this diet, including Buddhism and Hinduism.
Lacto-vegetarian diet
The type of diet is plant-based and includes some dairy products. The difference is that the diet consists of dairy products such as cow’s food and milk made from the lacto-vegetarian diet. The diet includes ice-scream, sour cream, yogurt, butter, and cheese. Some people may have religious beliefs pertaining Lacto-vegetarian diet. Some cultural and religious communities believe in such a diet, such as Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism.
Ovo-vegetarian diet
This type of diet does not include dairy products. The diet only allows for the consumption of eggs. The ovo-vegetarian diet excludes dairy products and foods derived from dairy products such as sour cream, ice cream, milk, butter, and cheese. People who consume the diet above also consume eggs and their dishes such as omelets, scrambled eggs, and hard-boiled eggs. Eggs are also used in making cakes, bread, and muffins.
Flexitarian diet
The diet is more flexible as compared to a vegetarian diet or strict vegan diet. A Flexitarian diet shows the advantage of a plant-based diet and allows the consumption of animal products. The diet emphasizes consuming a plant-based diet and includes animal and meat products like dairy and eggs. The main plan is to eat whole plant foods to get proteins from plants rather than from an animal-based diet. Processed foods and sugar can be limited when a flexitarian diet is adhered to. Only a tiny amount of animal products and meat is allowed. A flexitarian is not necessarily a vegetarian because they sometimes consume some little beef.
Pescatarian diet
Many people who fall into this category consume a plant-based diet, including fish. Pescatarian comes from the Italian word “peace,” which means fish. People who consume such a diet eat fish and their products such as halibut, sushi, tuna, and salmon and avoid pork, chicken, and beef. Pescatarian diet varies from one person to another because others take a small number of dairy products. Such diets help obtain omega three fats from seafood and fish. The omega-three fats are lack in some vegetarian diets.
Vegan diet
The type of diet excludes ALL animal products such as eggs, meat, dairy products, and fish. Some vegans also exclude honey because it’s a product from the bees. The vegan diet is plant food only. Such a vegan diet incorporates plant-based dairy products, milk, and meat. A person’s daily lifestyle also influences a vegan diet. Personally, I’ve been vegan since July 2013.
