Why to go on all inclusive holidays
Do you remember when I wrote about preconceived notions about cruise holidays? I was one of those people who kind of believed some of the preconceptions but slowly, while traveling more and more, I realized it’s always your choice what you do. Then I hopped on my first big cruise around the Mediterranean where my opinions formed beforehand all disappeared and I was convinced I was wrong like so many others.
But cruising is one thing, all inclusive holidays other. Many people get really surprised to see I do go on all inclusive holidays. If I don’t write about it in detail, they just think I travel ”my normal way” as usual.
But let me tell you … each time I mention my all inclusive hotels I LOVE, I get weird looks from my fans.
”You in an all inclusive resort?” they ask.
”Hell yeah!” is always my answer.
Unfortunately, there’s many preconceptions about all inclusive holidays. One group of people go only on those while the others do not even want to hear about it.
I just watched a video when a married UK couple was sent to Kos island in Greece to make them change their ”lazy people, lazy holidays” preconception about all inclusive holidays. It was pretty funny to watch and see that many people out there really have the same opinion. But the video only supported what I personally thought and why I never refuse an all inclusive offer.
I am sure you know already that am not usually a lazy person, unless once a year I go to an all inclusive resort with my mum like the other day in Hurghada where I chose to do nothing but relax by the pool and swim in the sea for 12 days without internet in Egypt. But like I said, that was my choice not to be active because I didn’t have more days in the whole year to properly switch off without blogging.
But most of my time, doing nothing is not really my thing. I am way more active than you might think (I admit bikini photos do not show well that unless you happen to travel with me.) Did you know that I went camel riding, snorkeling in Chileno Bay, swimming with dolphins and even zip lining in Los Cabos when I was staying at Marina Fiesta Resort in Cabo San Lucas? And yes, that hotel is all inclusive and yet I did so many things every single day.
Having many activities to choose from in all inclusive hotels is not the only reason why I love them. There are always good swimming pools and I enjoy swimming every day as for me it’s the easiest exercise to do. Then it’s always good service what I also like. Who doesn’t want to be treated like a rock star?! And most of all, trying to be fit when traveling I do eat 5 or 6 times a day. Trust me, there’s no better place to get so many meals easily than in an all inclusive resorts without having to think where can I get another meal asap. Sometimes I don’t even have to get out of the pool to get my fruit or a fresh juice. I call it heaven!

Alex,
We so agree with you. Both of us love all-inclusive holidays and try to do at least 1 every year :) The food, drinks and the hassle-free relaxation are the reasons why we choose it !!
Cheers
