All the best in 2011
My beloved blog readers,
I just came back from one of my repetitive visits to Barcelona where had an amazing time with my 2 best friends again. Five minutes ago I enjoyed the last bubble bath of 2010 and checked out my diary 2010 to see which of my wish list came true and what hasn’t been completed yet. I became a better person (I think). Check. I tried to eat less and more healthy. Check. Toned muscles a bit. Check. Went to Barcelona again. Obviously, check. Finally visited Rome, Venice and Malta for the first time. Check. Saved some money. Check. Moved from Scotland to sunny Italy. Check. Was showing my family and friends how much I appreciate them. Check. Got a new bicycle. Check. Carpe Diem. Oh, yes, check. Another 365 days without alcohol. Check. Still a non-smoker. Check. Got back to driving. Unfortunately no check, still scared here in Southern Italy! But most of the wishes certainly came true and 2010 was with no doubt an unforgettable year for me, with all the new people I met, new experience, adventures and interesting places I visited.
Basically, after 2009 which was a year of extremes for me when I had laser eye surgery, did skydiving finally, climbed a mountain in Iceland, had months when I spent all my days off traveling, tried couchsurfing, drove a boat, did a photo shoot for Ryanair calendar 2010 in Alicante, traveled mostly alone etc. This year 2010 was more spiritual and emotional, more about spending time with family, trips with best friends, more about love and support, about realizing what does matter in life and what is not important, about understanding what I want to do for the rest of my life, about relaxing at the beach, about watching sunsets and meeting new people who became good friends of mine. I managed to get my mom through half Europe just by herself twice which was a great challenge for both me and her. And in October I came up with the idea of writing this travel blog, which I’m so proud of, because I have learned so many things and I am still learning. I hate to stagnate and this is what brings me something new to do and improve my skills.I am really grateful for all the readers and positive feedback I get, and for all the help and suggestions about how to make my travel blog better, too. A big THANKS!!!
For 2011 well, where to start … I have quite many New Year’s resolutions. First of all, finally get the degree at the University from English philology in the end of January. Keep on another 365 days without smoking and alcohol, do more exercise and sports without breaking any bones, finally learn Italian so I can speak fluently (and thus fulfill one of the 2010 wishes), cut down junk food to minimum, chocolate and ice cream only when I will really feel I can’t survive without it, have a healthy lifestyle in general, enjoy every moment as if it was the last one. Then I want to improve my photography skills and play more with photos. Learn more about HTML, CSS and php.
Then do something crazy (knowing myself I can assure you, it will be more than just a thing). Try not to buy things I do not need. Ride an elephant, swim with dolphins or kiss a penguin. Upload many photos and videos to my travel blog and improve it as much as I can (all the ideas and help is really appreciated from you, guys!). I wish so much to finally get out of Europe as I’ve explored it pretty well by now, and travel or around Asia and Oceania, or Mexico and South America – the more places, the better. If my job doesn’t allow me to move to the Canary Islands or somewhere on the Spanish coast in the next few months, maybe I will quit my current job and start living out of my travel blog somewhere on the road. These are some of the plans I have for 2011. But who knows where the wind takes me. I keep an open mind to all the ideas. Yesterday a friend read my cards and there were so many positive things coming, money, success, a lot of travel and crazy fun adventures. I feel it is going to be a good year! Watch my next trips here with me.
I hope you had a perfect Christmas time accompanied by the ones you love the most. Happy New Year to each and everyone of you! Wishing you all the best in 2011 from Brindisi, Italy!
Love,
Alex, your Crazy Sexy Fun Traveler

Frankly, having read this article and some of your other material, I think its quite inspirational. You prove Nothings impossible if you really want to do it! You always seem to leave me thinking good things about life and also that there are some really nice genuine people out there that want to be decent friends. Good Luck this year, and especially getting your degree, what youve achieved so far is amazing, If I were your family or your boyfriend Ide be VERY VERY proud of you indeed. Thanks for being what your best at….. being yourself :) Oh, and NEVER give up! :):)

Hey Alex, it sounds like you’ve had an amazing year. You seem very centered and with a real sense of balance in your life. The travels and experiences you’ve had, as well as the less healthy things that you’ve been able to avoid, have no doubt provided you with a wisdom that is sure to guide you through years to come. All the best in 2011 and beyond.
