Benefits of traveling to USA
The United States of America were always on my bucket list. Not just because I find English in the USA much easier to understand than the British one (I’d better don’t even start about Scottish or Irish accents) but I really enjoy the American accent.
To be honest, you would NOT find the USA anywhere in my top 10 countries to visit for sure, but still the US was somewhere there for me in the upper part of the list. I never visited it until summer 2012 and it was still not because my travel bug was begging me to go (as you probably read already).
Why did it take me so long???
The biggest secret is I always wanted to visit the USA and do road trips all around passing through as many of its countries as possible.
But as you can imagine, I never found good travel buddies for that. Most of the time I travel solo as it is less difficult I think. I don’t have to wait for anyone and skip places I’d love to see just because someone else was drinking the night before and his best hangover friend did not let him to go on that exciting trip with me.
But here I go … I did put my foot into the US even though I was not going to spend my unforgettable US visit in a car looking at a stunning scenery with the air in my hair and pretending-to-be-singing loud.
At least no road trips were planned.
But when in the end I only visited East Coast for almost a month, some road trips were included. Not only bus trips, but also around Washington, then Boston, from Boston to Cape Cod and back.
Apart from breaking up with the guy I thought I was going to marry one day, visiting USA definitely still had some benefits for me.
I finally visited Big Apple. New York City, here I come!
There, I found out some surprising facts about New York City I would never know without spending some quality time there. I did know though I would fall in love with New York very quickly.
As well I could finally go up the Empire State Building and enjoy the NYC skyscrapers in all their beauty when I took a cruise around New York.
I made great new friends I will love for long, such as Lee or Lola.
Completely out of the blue, I went to the beach in Cape Cod and was more than happy as beach and swimming pool time are one of those very few things that make me relax.
I also saw a sand shack in Cape Cod National Park Seashore where Tennessee Williams wrote a part of Streetcar named Desire – this book together with another thousands were my nightmare at the University. But let’s be honest. I was still excited to see the sand shack where the weird idea of Desire book popped out.
In the USA I felt like in a movie … and not only because I took the Sex and the City hotspot tour in NYC.
And I had a chance to fulfill one of my dreams and do whale watch in Provincetown!
So no matter where you travel, there is always something you will like. TRUST ME. It will have a lot of benefits and in the end you can even fall in love with the place like I did :)
Next time I will visit much more in the USA. Looking forward to Miami, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon and more :)

I grew up in Chicago. Many of the immigrants to the US from Eastern Europe, particularly Poland and Czechoslovakia, ended up in Chicago. It is one the few places in the US where there are many Polish and “Bohemian” restaurants.
But, having grown up in Chicago, lived on the east coast, and now living in California, I can say that the best of the US is west of the Rocky Mountains especially California – beautiful national parks, varied climates and terrain from desert landscapes to tall mountains. And, the urban areas are also more interesting especially the San Francisco Bay Area although when visiting you need to avoid the “tourist traps” such as San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf.

You need to come to the west (western part of the US)…it’s the best! The natural beauty is amazing! Granted I am American, but I’ve traveled all over the world and I am continually surprised at how diverse, different and beautiful the US is. The west does not have the same type of history or opulent structures like Europe, but you’ll find landscapes unlike anywhere else in the world. For Example, Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, or Yosemite to the Red woods, to the cliff dwellings of the southwest. If you want to do some amazing road tripping…let me know the next time you come to the States and I’ll take you on an adventure you’ll not soon forget.
TBEX in Toronto?

Definitely don’t miss Chicago. Many people consider it flyover country, but in the summer it’s one of the best places on earth! Music festivals, food, street fairs, it’s all marvelous!

The States are such a weird place (I can say that because I’m from there!) because you can drive hours through a wasteland of chain stores and shopping malls, but then all of a sudden arrive at a gorgeous, deserted landscape or a really cool town or neighborhood full of great energy and plenty of fun.
I’m from the West (which is totally different from the East), so I’d say you should go west. But I know you’ll love Miami, too, because I used to live there!
