Fun and fast Flightlinez Bootleg Canyon zipline Las Vegas
You might have read how my plans changed because of the unprofessionality of the Utah tourism office and how I ended up in Las Vegas for 10 days instead for just a quick visit. I had to replan a lot and was not really happy. And man, Vegas can get expensive!
But my Las Vegas experience was getting better and better every day. One of the activities that helped to change my mood was also Flightlinez Bootleg Canyon zipline. I am a big fanatic of zipline after trying it for the first time in El Chiflon waterfall and then in Wild Canyon in Mexico and many other places around the world.
I was ready and waiting outside of the hotel to be picked up by the guys from Flightlinez who drove us to their office some 30 minutes from Las Vegas.
I had a little nap in the van and woke up pretty tired so was a bit clumsy at first. After all the safety procedures and weighing, we received a free bottle of water (it does get hot, and I mean HOT in there), could use sunscreen lotion and our 3 young guides explained us the main info both in theory and practice.
Boy, did I mention all three of them were super cute?! And funny … the next three hours were full of witty jokes and they just made the adventure even more memorable. It felt as if we knew each other for years. I so loved the familiar approach as I am against the formal attitude as much as I can (it makes me feel old and I am so far from that yet :))
After we drove to the Bootleg Canyon, we started walking up the hill with all the zipline equipment. And it was there where I understood where the guides got their muscles :D Doing this a few times a day!
4 ziplines almost 2,5 km long above the lovely reddish desert landscape of Bootleg Canyon were awaiting us. The first zipline was from the top of the Red Mountain and it was so comfy to sit in a a para-gliding harness and zipline the safe thick cables. Even the first-timers had no problem with it and found the zipline amusing, not scary.
I enjoyed every zipline more and more staring at the contrast of the blue skies, guides’ red T-shirts and the scenic half-dry canyon with scattered bushes. Sometimes we even ziplined at around 90 km per hour! How awesome was that eco-adventure!
The funniest part was to see a Chinese girl breaking too early and getting stuck at each zipline when the guys had to pull her to the zipline end with a rope. And when I laughed, it happened to me too. I guess it’s called the Law of Attraction :D
I got stuck a few metres before the finish line, had to catch a rope and holding it the guides dragged me to the zipline stage. Well, that was fun too. So please make sure you do exactly what you are told to do. Especially, legs apart!
Aw, and the guides posed for me to say goodbye. Sweet! :)
It’s very difficult to explain the zipline experience so better check out my video from Flightlinez Bootleg Canyon zipline. I took it with my Drift HD Ghost camera:
And after the zipline we could buy some photos of our adventure and were taken back to our hotels. Then I was ready for limousine and helicopter ride over night Las Vegas. Well, living like a star can be so much fun :)
***It took me more than 10 hours to write the post, choose the photos and make the video.

Hi Alexandra, that sounds like a fun experience! As they say, every cloud has a silver lining… pity about the Utah Office incident, but It’s good to see you made the most out of your Vegas experience… that’s a place I’d love to go back to – and I used to be totally against Sin City before I was dragged there…
Cheers!
