Exotic Yoga Retreats in Costa Rica – Blue Osa day 4
After the 3rd day on the first out of the 2 Exotic Yoga Retreats in Costa Rica I attended, Gayle Olson, our yoga teacher, gave us another walking meditation card for the following morning. This time it dealt with passion, determination and fire.
”What are your dreams?
What are your passions?”
Already in bed I came up with an idea of what I was going to do in the morning to follow my passion.
”Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen.” Ralph Waldo Emerson said.
I spent the whole morning running after birds, lizards and a squirrel. Taking photos of animals and contemplating in silence in the nature is one of my biggest passions. When I sat down for a few minutes by the river, two black vultures landed in front of me and started kissing. Life is awesome!
The morning yoga class was also pretty awesome. We practiced the ujjayi breath = the victorious breath sometimes called the ocean breath when we loudly breathe through the larynx. We felt so hot! Now I know what to practice in winter times to get warmer :D
I still remember what Gayle told us at that yoga class:
”It’s not if you fall. It’s when you fall. And when you fail, you are not finished until you quit.”
After the morning yoga class and perfect lunch, I had a chocolate massage at Blue Osa Spa with Marcela. Organic chocolate from the area smelled SO great and strong I wanted to lick myself up instead of taking a shower to wash the chocolate out of me.
After the massage I swam a few pool laps and then had my first acupuncture ever – done by Koji who knows so much about it I felt very safe in his hands even though half of my butt and lower back was jumping all around the massage bed. German, a photographer of Costa Rican Magazine Perfil, was taking photos of me during the acupuncture to use them in their magazine.
Then it was snack time. David left me some hummus with carrots and cucumbers. Oh my, how much I love hummus!! It was difficult to chat with Mindy and Anne with my mouth full :D
After swimming another 15 laps, we had afternoon yoga – we did a lot of twists, yoga on the chairs and meditation trying to focus on our breathing, sensation and noise around us (mostly the sea, insects and birds) and then feeling the hands and other parts of our body.
Delicious broccoli, cauliflower, lentil and pad thai dinner was made even better with a Farmers’ Market which takes place at Blue Osa usually once per week. Alison from Rainforest Solutions sent me a bag full of their organic biodegradable local healthy products from coconut oil, soaps, insect repellents to body scrubs and creams. I could not speak highly enough about the Rainforest Solutions, such a great treat that does not harm your body nor nature.
We all opened up a lot when we started talking about sex and relationships. Was a pretty funny night! I went online for a few minutes on my laptop just to send the most important emails saying I am still alive. More alive than ever :)
My 4th day on the Exotic Yoga Retreats in Costa Rica was probably the best … perfect yoga, learned a lot, chocolate massage, acupuncture, swimming, meditation, finger-licking cuisine, unforgettable laughs, hugs and photos … That’s what I call a live filled with passion :)
It was the first night I went to bed after 10.30 pm and slept very little as the howler monkeys woke me up already at 4 am.
Just remember:
”Don’t ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” by Howard Thurman – found on our morning walking meditation card.
