Exploring Bali
As you might have noticed, I spent the whole November 2015 in Bali. I scuba dived for the first time ever, then did a 10-day Raw vegan chef and detox training, relaxed at the super luxury hotels and did a yoga and Ayurveda week course.
But a friend of mine, Jacob, had a completely different experience to mine and here is more about his trip around Bali.
Tell us something about you
I’m Jacob Laukaitis, a 21-year-old digital nomad and avid traveler. I am a co-founder of ChameleonJohn.com and this is the main reason why I can travel as much – my job is location independent, meaning I can work from anywhere as long as I have Wi-Fi and my laptop.
How long did you travel around Bali?
I have already visited Bali 3 times. The last time (when I made this video), I went there for exactly 1 month.
What did you like the most in Bali?
Oh, pretty much everything! I love the people, the culture, the feeling I get when I’m in the island, the diversity of the people living there and the massive differences between different towns. Sometimes it feels as if I’m in a different country!
What did you not enjoy in Bali?
I guess I’m not a very big fan of their local food, since it’s relatively hard to find vegan/vegetarian options. Other than that, I love Bali.
Your favorite and least favorite experience in Bali?
I’ve had tons of wonderful experiences in Bali from motorbiking around the island, to trekking their wonderful volcanoes and interacting with the local people (since I can already speak some Bahasa Indonesia). I guess my least favorite experience was when I faced a serious inflammation and had to run around for days trying to find a doctor that could help me fix it without having to spend a fortune.
