The best hotels in Nevis
Nevis is definitely one of those places you fall in love immediately. At least I so did when spending 9 days exploring St. Kitts and Nevis, two very different islands in the Caribbean.
High season visitors come from the US, Canada and summer low season guests mostly from Europe (England, Germany, Italy.) It rains a lot in summer months on Nevis in the evenings and at night but the temperature is still hot enough for swimming and similar activities.
The 3 best hotels in Nevis
In my opinion, the top 3 hotels in Nevis are the following:
1. Montpelier Nevis
Montpelier Nevis is located in a mill which finished its work in 1933. The ancestors of people working here in the mill and in the plantation are working now on the hotel. We had breakfast at Indigo restaurant here and then dinner with the Minister of Tourism and his wife at Restaurant 750. They call it this way because of its 750 ft altitude which makes it famous. The dinner menu we had a chance to taste cost $75.
I wrote a review of my stay at Montpelier Plantation. For more information, head to Montpelier Nevis website.
2. Nisbet Plantation
the Great House first opened in 1958. Francis ”Fanny” Nisbet who married Horatio Nelson once lived here, hence its actual name. Inside there’s a room dedicated to Eva Wilkin, artist who lived on Nevis. It offers free wifi, full board and a very charming swimming pool with the beach view. Authentic Caribbean villas look like Nevis local villas.
At the beach bar we had a chance to interview Reginald Douglas, the famous sportsman of the island, often called just Reggie. We visited in the end of wet season – September to March. The plantation is situated right on the beach with a natural reef which is great for snorkeling.
3. Four Seasons Nevis
I was just a guest at their Four Seasons spa and let me tell you, it was a few hours in the paradise! I had a foot massage, a very healthy lunch and then we relaxed in the outdoor jacuzzi with my 2 friends. I could imagine staying there for ever! The hotel has lovely pools, very beautiful white-sand beach and many activities around. Check out more info about Four Seasons Nevis.
My trip to the best Nevis hotels was a press trip organized by the St. Kitts Tourist Board and Nevis Tourism in the collaboration with the hotels mentioned above. All the opinions in this article are my own as usual.
