Where to stay in Lingayen – President Hotel
During my 3-week trip around the Philippines, together with my friends Mica and James, we visited Pangasinan province in the west central area of Luzon island for two days. One day we spent in Dagupan city, the second one in Lingayen which is the provincial capital.
I guess we stayed in the best place when in Lingayen. The location of the President Hotel could not be better. It is situated at Maramba Boulevard, just 3 minutes walking from the Capitol and 5 minutes from the Lingayen beach.
The 12th president of the Republic of Philippines (1992 – 1998) Fidel V. Ramos (popularly known just as FVR) was born here in Lingayen.
The Ramos House stood at the place of the President Hotel for years which we can find out due to the Ramos House Marker that you can see just once you enter the hotel. Ramos used to live in the house so nowadays the President Hotel is famous as a part of the historical tour around Pangasinan, too. Hence the name of the hotel – President hotel as it was owned for a certain time by the president FVR himself also and some of the rooms in the hotel are named after the presidents of the Philippines.
When visiting Pangasinan province, me together with my fellow travel bloggers Mica, James and Josh stayed in the President Hotel for a night. Me and Mica got 125 Ramos suite and guys stayed in Marcos suite.
The rooms in the hotel are very clean and nice and equipped with a TV. The twin beds are comfy, which is one of the many reasons I liked the hotel. Bathrooms are big, so one can enjoy them easily, especially the hot shower. Free shampoo, toothpaste, a toothbrush, soap and slippers come included.
There is free wifi in the hotel, too. The best wifi connection is at the reception and then on the first floor just next to the stairs where is the religious place for praying.
I have to confess, that being a food lover, all my traveling is about eating. It was the case of my Lingayen trip also. I extremely enjoyed the food in the hotel. We arrived exactly at the dinner time so with James and Mica we first enjoyed our dinner. It was yummy chicken, boneless bangus and traditional pinakbet. We finished the dinner with the even more delicious special puto :)
The following day we were served a delicious breakfast and lunch in the President Hotel andand I ate them all. So yummy!
The dinner we had with James and Mica was in a special room, then the breakfast and lunch we could enjoy in the sunny garden at the backyard of the hotel. Very quiet and peaceful, a great place to eat Pangasinan specialities.
Also the service was very nice, you get free water with every meal and some fruit too, usually a banana. And the staff is so helpful, smiling all the time, willing to do anything for you. Many thanks to all the staff and Dr. Marco Duque for everything. Our stay in the President Hotel was a really nice chilled experience.
There is a lot to do around the President hotel area, just check out my post soon about the things to do in Lingayen.
