London vs Sydney?
I just wrote about European city breaks yesterday where I mentioned London as one of the top cities I used to visit a few years ago when traveling around Europe. The truth is that almost every single time I visited the UK capital the weather did not want to collaborate with me. Simply put, bad weather in London means relax to me and even when the whole city is covered with grey clouds or full of people with hundreds of umbrellas, everyone will always find something to do in there.
I admit the London weather is something that might put off many of us when thinking of a city break. So it doesn’t surprise me that the recent survey carried out by the Reputation Institute showed that London did not even make it to top 10 Most Reputable Cities in the world.
However, most probably due to its year-round sunshine Sydney won the survey as number one Most Reputable City. Unfortunately, I have not made it to Sydney yet but the average temperature in the coldest month – 16 Celsius degrees might convince me soon.
Looking at the infographic, both cities have around 70 great restaurants and I am sure even a raw vegan like me would find a lot of different places to dine out so in this point London and Sydney are equal to me. But speaking of city parks vs. beaches I think I do not need to explain much to my readers. No matter how big of a park lover I could be (I truly think what makes a city great is a good market and a park – such as in Santiago de Chile or Barcelona), beaches still win over city parks. Now it finds me wondering … why have I not booked a ticket to Sydney yet?
How about other things to do in London and Sydney? Both have a couple of famous landmarks, museums, galleries to visit and even carnivals to attend. And if you are shopaholics (you know that denying is the first sign of proving you really are!), you just found heaven on Earth in both :)
So when you look at the infographic, London vs Sydney? What is your take? Which city do you prefer? If you had to live in one of the two, which one would you choose and why? Looking forward to your comments.

Love a good infograph! Sydney weather is great – we’re about to have the coldest week in years and the daytime temp is still supposed to hit 13…hard to complain when this is literally as bad as it gets!

Sydney is nice – like a grown up version of Auckland.
I hear Melbourne is GREAT for vegans and vegetarians.

As an Australian, I would definitely have to say Sydney wins here…. Although I prefer Melbourne to Sydney.

I am an Australian, lived in London for 5 years and I miss it every day. I can’t choose which one I prefer because when I’m living in one I miss the other. However amazing the weather, culture and city of Sydney is the top things I miss most from London is the football scene and a good ale. If Australia learns to master these two things I will be a happy man.

Great comparison, Tony. For me the beach still wins I’m afraid.
