Eating jícama lollipop in Cholula
I had never heard of jícama before I came to Mexico. To be specific, during the road trip through Colima, I wanted some fruit as usual, so we stopped at the road at one of those places where the family sells their fruit and a girl made me a fruit salad, including this weird huge white ball which I had no idea about. I made one of my really strange faces when I saw this vegetable – fruit – whatever. But in the end, it was love at the first bite.
Since then I have always eaten jícama everywhere possible. And when my friend Arturo saw those jícama lollipops in Cholula, I could not say no. Obviously, all the Mexicans put sauces, salt, lemon and other rare stuff on it, but me just plain natural.

Going to be in Mexico for the next six months or so! We brought some dried jicima flowers back with us last spring. In fact we still have some here. Would you like a glass? :-)
