Meeting new people
I’m not going to say anything new if I say I love many things about traveling. It’s not just to see new places, get some new experience and adventures. One of the things I really like, too, is meeting new people. It’s always great to get to know more people, see their different culture and habits or just explore their way of life…
Some people come to your life and they leave without leaving any prints. But then, there are people who enter your life when you expect it the least and they change you in a way.
Doesn’t matter how long you know them, it happened to me many times that you can just meet someone and then not just that after a couple of minutes you feel you’ve known the person for ages, but you are sure you will always remember him/her for the rest of your life.
Or for his/her smile, the way he/she is or just something he/she said and it made you realize something important or change your opinion about something, or just the way he/she looks at you for those 5 seconds you will never forget. I mean, meeting new people always gives you something, moves you forward.
The summer of 2010 when I went to Alicante and Arenales del Sol, I met so many nice and caring people and some of them are my very good friends now and I know I can count on them every time I want to go there for some fun and have a place to stay over for a couple of days. And I’m really grateful for that. I met all these people in different places: at the beach, restaurants, bars and on board the plane.
It’s not only to make some friends what is nice when meeting new people. Other thing I like is to meet people who are actually doing something important in life, at least important for them, they spend all their free time fighting for their dreams and passions, to be good at what they do and maybe even become famous.
The fact that they do not give up gives me some kind of positive energy to go for the things I want in life. One day in Roma we were walking along Via Corso and shopping with my best friend, really exhausted when we heard hand-clapping and saw a breakdance show. We watched it all and all of a sudden all the energy from boys jumped on me and my best friend, too. I was taking videos during it and guys saw me so after the show, one of them talked to me. And not only I got nice time the rest of my stay in Rome, but Rady’s positive attitude to life and his friendship, as well.
Sometimes life can surprise you a lot. Or is it destiny? I don’t know. Get your own opinion. I knew a guy from one social network for almost 3 years. That time I used to live in Czech republic and he, Danny Ulman is Czech but has lived in Elche, Spain since 2000. We never met personally. Danny is a famous singer and dancer.
Before I went to Alicante with my best friends, I got an online invitation for a concert World Dance Music 2010 where he was supposed to sing, too. I wanted to buy tickets, surprise my friends and go there, but they were all sold on internet. Then, lying on the Arenales beach (close to Elche), we heard a group of people talking in Czech next to us so we started a conversation. Believe it or not, it was sister and mother of Danny and they invited us for the concert as V.I.P.
So not only we did not have to pay for the entrance and wait in the Q to get in, we went to the backstage , had drinks for free and finally I had a chance to meet Danny in person and his photographer Víctor López.
Next time we went to Arenales, Danny and his cute family invited us for a BBQ to a big house with swimming pool and horses that belongs to well-known orchestra director Manuel Ramos. Manuel is now doing Spanish courses there so if you would like to learn Spanish and have some fun at the same time, check out his webpage.
Meeting new people is something I do enjoy a lot when I travel and in everyday life, too. You make more and more friends all over the world who you can go to visit and maybe stay over in one day. It make you realize there are still so many kind people out there who do care about others.
I’d like to say to all the people I’ve met on my trips:
”Sometimes a minute is enough to get to know someone, an hour to start to like him, a day to fall in love but not even the whole life would be enough to forget him.”
So don’t be afraid to meet new people, hug, kiss and tell them what they mean to you!
Sending you all my love and thanks for all the parties, fun times, great moments, your support and all you’ve been doing for me!

My wife and I also enjoy the world of travelling. Sometimes we wish we could do it for a living so that we don’t have to wait for our annual vacation to do it. What we love most about travelling is the experience we get from being surrounded by different cultures with rich history. You have a wonderful blog… Cheers!
