My ABC’s of travel
There is this post going on, everyone calls it differently, such as my ABC’s of travel, ABC of my travel or A-Z of my travels or something similar, but it is the same thing.
Here are my answers to know more about my traveling. Enjoy!
A: Age you went on your first international trip:
When I was still in my mum’s belly just before I was born, there was this traditional family trip when mu family went shopping to Hungary :D Those were my first international trips, going shopping to Ukraine, Poland and Hungary as it was cheaper over there. We did it many times during my childhood.
But if you want to know my first international trip without my parents, I think it was when I was 18 and moved to Czech Republic.
B: Best (foreign) beer you’ve had and where:
Funny, but I never liked beer at all. I think if I count all the beer I had in my life, it would be half liter probably. And then I stopped drinking 3 years ago, so … no beer, bring me a fruit shake! Or three :)
C: Cuisine (favorite):
Slovak cuisine obviously and Italian. Give me pasta or pizza for breakfast and I’d eat two portions!
D: Destinations, favorite, least favorite and why:
Barcelona is my favorite city and then Mexico the best country. I just love it there.
Least favorite destination? There’s none. It is easy to find something nice everywhere.
E: Event you experienced abroad that made you say “wow”:
There were more, but the first one that comes to my mind is Thai boxing on Koh Phangan island. The atmosphere there took my breath away. I do boxing myself at home to calm down haha so it was a huge experience for me.
F: Favorite mode of transportation:
Airplane. No wonder I used to work as a stewardess for 2 years. I love boats and motorbikes as well. Completely in love with them. I don’t need anything else to be happy. And I also love walking. Which is what many people hate when they have to travel with me :D
G: Greatest feeling while traveling:
When I come to a place and it is deadly amazing and leaves me without words. Those two seconds I will remember for ever.
H: Hottest place you’ve traveled to:
Sahara desert in Tunis. I was boiling hot and couldn’t even breathe and see properly. It was horrible, some 50 Celsius degrees. Then it was too hot for me when visiting all the archeological sites in the jungle of Mexico. It was that hot that I had to be in bikini only :D
I: Incredible service you’ve experienced and where:
I really loved it in Mexico, everyone is so nice to you as the tips are obligatory :D And then in Egypt, with my mum we got everything we wanted, even the drinks were waiting for us at our table before we came. Was cool as everyone else had to wait haha.
J: Journey that took the longest:
Each time I try to get home to my little hometown in the East of Slovakia it just takes ages. Just around 12 hours by train/bus from the closes airport :D The last time coming back home for Christmas a week ago, it took me 38 hours since I left Khao San road in Bangkok to come to my flat in Snina.
K: Keepsake from your travels:
I collect snowballs and postcards. But the longer the trip is, the more I forget to get some haha until my last day, then I spend the last money on them :)
L: Let-down sight, why and where:
I don’t like overpriced places. And was really disappointed in Tiger Kingdom in Chiang Mai, among other places.
M: Moment where you fell in love with travel:
During road trips around Slovakia with my family. A lot of food, great music, singing and lovely nature in my country. And I was sold!
N: Nicest hotel you’ve stayed in:
There were more. I liked those all inclusive ones in Egypt and Tunis, in Sahara desert. They were supernice and I am just obsessed with eating :D
O: Obsession—what are you obsessed with taking pictures of while traveling?:
Sunsets, beach, waterfalls and nature in general. And also skyscrapers.
P: Passport stamps, how many and from where?
Got only a couple of pages. Never got the stamps at the airports during my life of a cabin crew and I just don’t get any stamps in Europe anyway, unfortunately.
Q: Quirkiest attraction you’ve visited and where:
Uff, can’t think of any right now.
R: Recommended sight, event or experience:
Just do everything you want to do. That should be enough to make you happy.
S: Splurge; something you have no problem forking over money for while traveling:
Food. I keep eating all the time, everything for me is just about food. Ask people that know me. Even my friends in the Philippines were saying I should change the name of my blog from CRAZY SEXY FUN TRAVELER to ALWAYS HUNGRY TRAVELER :D
T: Touristy thing you’ve done:
I prefer to visit not touristy places and do not touristy things, but of course some touristy places are just a must even for me! I went up the Eiffel tower, entered Vatican, took hop on hop off buses to visit 30 things in Barcelona, strolled along Khao San road, took all inclusive holidays in Egypt, Fontana di Trevi … There’s plenty of them.
U: Unforgettable travel memory:
All the memories are unforgettable for me. I swear! Even those unpleasant ones, they also teach me something so I don’t want to forget them.
V: Visas, how many and for where?
Always got only tourist visa so it doesn’t count I guess.
W: Wine, best glass of wine while traveling and where?
Like I mentioned already, I have never liked wine and I’m abstinent now, so no thank you!
X: eXcellent view and from where?:
Skydiving in Gran Canaria, paragliding and ultralight flight in San Jose Iturbide, and then all the mountains and buildings from the top. It is a must do for me to climb up and get a view everywhere I go.
Y: Years spent traveling?:
Like I said in the first A question, I spent my whole life traveling. So 27 so far.
Z: Zealous sports fans and where?:
I don’t watch TV and stopped watching sports after 3 years with a football player when I had to watch it all and go to all the football matches where he played :D
