My top 6 destinations in USA
I have been to the USA three times already and each time I had a completely different experience and I also visited a different part of the USA. A US road trip is still on my bucket list but I guess for that one I will have to wait for a little while until I find a few really cool people who could share a car with me around :)
Every time when someone asks me about my favorite places in the USA, I cannot pick just one.
So I put up a list of my top 6 destinations in USA:
1. Grand Canyon
I went to the Grand Canyon twice, first to the West Rim and then also to the South Rim. Once on a bus and once on a airplane. The second one was of course more fun, but when we visited it was a pretty cold windy day and it even snowed for a few minutes. Despite the cold, I had a really cool experience as Grand Canyon was on my bucket list since I was a kid.
2. Las Vegas
Las Vegas is not only for party people. I met very interesting people there, and even a few travel bloggers, such as Hillary who became a good friend of mine. Vegas has it all. Eiffel Tower, Venice canals, beautiful fountains, casinos, hot guys (the stripper show Thunder from Down Under, OMG!)… Definitely worth a visit for a few days. Remember to take a limousine and hop on a helicopter to see Vegas at night.
TIP: Are you considering renting a limousine, a bus or a mini bus for your US trip? Then check Limo Find.
3. San Francisco
I honestly LOVE San Francisco. I spent hours writing down a list of 47 things to do in SF and spending 2 weeks there were not enough for me, even though the weather was not so great. You know, the famous San Fran fog and wind had to welcome me, too! San Francisco must be great if it made it to my top 5 cities in the world, don’t you think? Read more about history of California in my other article.
4. Yosemite National Park
If you visit San Francisco or the surrounding area, make sure you will get a healthy breakfast and then spend a day visiting the Yosemite National Park. The nature will amaze you! The huge sequoia trees gave me so much energy it lasted for days. Don’t forget to hug a few of them if possible.
5. New York
Well, I spent 2 weeks in New York City but the initial plan was just 2 days. It all changed once I broke up with my American boyfriend when there and I had to wait for my flight back to Europe. So I had no other chance than to explore more of New York and to be honest, the city really got under my skin. Not necessary to explain why, I guess.
6. Napa Valley
Despite my bad experience in Napa Valley with a guy, when I look back, I still love Napa somewhere deep inside. All the wineries around, nice sunsets above stunning hills, restaurants with healthy food … and the glamorous Napa Valley train :)

Alex,
Next time you visit the USA you need to stop in Austin and experience all the music, food and wonderful things to do our city offers. Hope to see you in Stockholm!

LOVE San Francisco as well. I was fortunate enough to live there for about 4 years and I loved every minute of it. Such a beautiful city with diverse, open-minded people. I wish I could have visited New Orleans as well. That’s my one regret from living in the US. Best of luck to you and your travels. :)

I would certainly have a difficult time limiting my favorite USA places to 6. Love your choices, though. Big tree!
