Romantic Rome
30th October 2010, 21:20. I remember it like now. It was our third and last day in romantic Rome.
I was sitting at the Fontana di Trevi right now, waiting for a friend and listening to Another Day in Paradise by Phil Collins. The right song at the right time – in the paradise of romantic Rome. I love the fountain at night, the water has such a nice colour with the lights on. Flash, flash, flash … people have a wish before they throw a coin into the fountain backwards.
Of course I did the same with my best friend 2 days ago when we came here. We had a perfect fun time here as usual when I travel with best friends. Basically, a little sleep, a lot of pictures, a good laugh and never-ending walking. She ended up with sore feet (better do not wear heels haha) and me with pain in my knee and we both need another holidays to rest. Typical. But I am not surprised as during the 3 days we walked some 70 km all around Rome to see as much as possible from this romantic city.
After walking and seeing so much in Rome, the most important thing is that now ROMA got the honourable second place just after my favourite city Barcelona. I really don’t understand why I’ve been waiting so long to visit Rome. It’s one of the places where you become happy and kind of satisfied just breathing the atmosphere. So imagine how it is when you walk through Palatinum, Roman Forum, Colosseum or the Pantheon watching the men dressed as gladiators posing you (logically it’s necessary to pay them to take a photo with them). To be in the middle of all ruins is a feeling one cannot describe. It makes you forget about the problems of the 21st century and go back in time to magnificence of the antique architecture. I was feeling heavenly great the whole 5 hours we spent there.
I really fell in love with Rome. It is probably even more romantic than Paris, there were couples holding their hands everywhere around me. To be honest, I wished I was there with my boyfriend. If there was one … With all the lights in the city, of different colours, making the historical buildings look even more mysterious and beautiful.
And the sunset! There is no better place for watching a romantic sunset than a sunset in Rome above Colosseum or Roman Forum. It made me think of the old times and imagine how all the gladiators must have been amazed by it after long tough days!
Everywhere you move around Rome, you will feel the romantic atmosphere which will fill your heart up with good feelings and make your stay in Rome be warm and unforgettable.

The atmosphere is really pleasant and cold that is ideal for a romantic mood. You have been hypnotize by Rome because you have walk for 70 miles and yet you are captivated by its beauty and history.
