Using phones abroad
Traveling is stressful enough, but traveling disconnected is even harder. When you’re planning your next vacation abroad, you can at least worry about one less thing and know that your smartphone or tablet will work abroad.
With the help of different apps for your smartphone and tablet, you can think more about your trip and less about how you are going to stay connected to your family or friends during your next vacation or business trip.
Regardless how you want to stay connected, there is an option for you. If you need the ability to call home, you can unlock your smartphone and use foreign carriers to make calls home. If you’re worried about the cost, there are plenty of free apps that allow you to call for free anytime you have access to WiFi (Skype, Viber, Whatsapp, Facebook Messenger.)
If you are concerned about texting or updating social media either on your smartphone (I personally use Lenovo VibeShot phone) or on your tablet, at least know your they will find nearby WiFi connections that will allow you to stay connected during your entire trip.
While it is possible to buy an international plan with your phone or tablet, there is also more affordable options to keep you connected during your trip abroad. Check out more information below to find out the best options to stay connected during the next time you are traveling overseas.
