What NOT to take on an RV trip
Some things are absolutely necessary on an RV trip. But there are also some that many people take even though they will never use them, and they are just taking up free space. It’s so easy to start collecting unnecessary items. Suddenly you will find yourself surrounded by books that you were supposed to read two years ago and kitchen appliances that you will never use. “But they might come in handy someday!”. Let’s be honest – you won’t use any of these things.
Another thing that you shouldn’t take while going on an RV trip are electronic devices like laptops, video game consoles and tablets. Camping is supposed to give you a break from reality – it is a time when you can relax and appreciate nature.
Do you really think that constant notifications coming from laptop/tablet will help you in that? There is also a chance that you will be tempted to use your computer more than necessary (and us, digital nomads, even more, right?). And in the end, you will spend the whole trip scrolling through Facebook or Instagram. Not cool.
Also, don’t take too much food. Of course, you can pack some snacks beforehand – it will definitely help with your budget. But remember not to go overboard, especially if it’s only a short getaway, and you are packing fresh products like fruits and vegetables. Probably, you will not eat half of the things you packed, and it will only result in waste. And that’s what we would like to avoid. Wasting food is never a good idea.
